Let me put this clearly

My main argument is that the original function of art perhaps was to identify kinship. However, my main point is that it’s function is to drawn attention to a body, object or message. So, while it still may advertise or communicate kinship, as kinship systems break down it is less often so used. Now it clearly is used to in many ways , whether the artist intentionally wanted a specific result. It can advertise wealth, advertise ones sophistication,  promote cooperation or animosity, etc.
